Brief Overview

Overview:A Web-based Polling system for use in the classroom has been developed.

Motivation:To Enhance Learning using a ubiquitous computing environment.

Method:Server-side Perl scripts hosted on Unix, deliver platform independent HTML to the end user. A SQL database is used to store question and usage data.

Advantage:Speed, security and stability.

Result:With regular interactivity and dialog in the lecture, students remain interested and attentive. Measuring their understanding of core concepts via polling provides a method to remain statistically connected to the knowledge base of your students. As a result lectures can be adapted based on the preparedness and abilities of the students.
